On 24th April, 1915, the 2nd King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 2 Brigade, 1st Division moved into the front line at Rue-du-Bois near Fleurbaix where they remained until relieved on 28th April. The battalion diary recorded that two men were killed on this their final day here, one when on a working party during the night and another by shell fire. One of these casualties was Harry Hills. |
